Metalchemy
Metalchemy's fundraising video is very eye-catching. It points out clear pain points and solutions at the beginning. Today, it starts from four perspectives of analyzing new creations:
1. Pain points:
- 1 trillion pounds of food is wasted globally a year
- 10% greenhouse gases from food waste
- Eco-Friendly food packaging market size to reach £191 billion by 2027
2. Solution:
- Nanoparticles - Metalchemy manufactures green silver nanoparticles
(AgNPs) that can kill harmful organisms. The translation means that the nanoparticles produced by the team can remove organic substances that harm the human body.
- Bioplastics, used in food packaging, can effectively prolong the preservation of food for 4 to 7 days
3. Team:
I spent a lot of time researching this part. Whether it is CEO Federico, Co-founder George Wang, or another Co-founder Patrizia De Santis, the visibility of the three of them on the Internet is very low. It is best that I only find CEO Federico. Linkedin.
From Federico Trotta's Linkedin, I extracted two points that I personally think are more attractive:
- Graduated from Imperial College with 1st Class Honours grades: Usually, students with good grades have high self-requirements, but on the contrary, it may also be due to the smoothness of the student's journey, which makes him have a relatively low tolerance for setbacks.
- Former Vice President of the Student Union of Imperial College London: There is basically no need to doubt this. Dai Shengyi also said when hiring people: "As long as you were a club cadre during your student days, you are welcome to join the Wangpin Group."
4. Competitive barriers:
I have been looking at this for a long time, and accidentally found a platform called Tracxn, which is designed for investment institutions to do technical research, and the open data on the Internet is free.
The only trouble is that he needs to register with the company's Email, not Gmail for me, so at the moment I'm only on Tracxn, and I've seen quite a few contestants in Metalchemy, so I can't get to the follow-up page.
In addition, Metalchemy's fundraising briefing also listed a lot of competitors, indicating that the market is fiercely competitive, but there is no obvious leader.
P.S. One of my teachers at the University of Queensland used to be a director of Nestle. He said that Nestle is the largest food company in the world, but because it was said at the time that Nescafe coffee was super bad, so I went to ask Google again.
Simply put, in the food and beverage market, occupying 1% is the world's leading brand, which shows that the battle is fierce, but it is not necessarily so difficult to achieve. Most entrepreneurial projects in the world are based on the 80/20 rule, basically focusing on 20%. It cannot be said that there is no chance at all.
In conclusion, this company is solving a major global problem, and the solution is correct, but there are many uncertainties in the team and competition barriers, and the stock price of 20.1 pounds is not a very sexy number.
But as far as this case is concerned, I still decide to invest based on the background of the founder, which is equivalent to buying a ticket to observe the development of this company and this industry. As for whether you ask me to recommend this company, I will give it 2.5 stars. Because of the 4 points of starting a business, half of them are very attractive, and the other half cannot be judged.
How many stars would you give this company? Welcome to leave a message below, press like and share↓

Last but not least, it is called Final but not the least in English. I recently observed the situation of the Internet and found that I still need to build an audio and video channel, so I will open Tik Tok and Youtube channels in the future, and put the link in the bucket, if you like My comments, please also look forward to the birth of the new channel.
